The Fairfield Foundation invites the public to a dig day at the Fairfield Archaeology Park to showcase excavations around the enslaved quarters and connect with descendants. The event will also discuss the legacy of Piney Swamp, a post-Civil War freed Black community, and include a trip to Antioch Church for their homecoming from 2PM-5PM, welcoming those with oral histories, family stories, or genealogical questions related to enslavement and Jim Crow-era erasure.
