This discussion series will focus on the themes of revolution, rebellion, and treason. The concept of self-determination is fundamental to our government’s foundation. The program will explore questions such as: At what point does an uprising become a revolution? When is it considered a rebellion? What constitutes treason? Intended for our youngest and soon-to-be citizens (those aged 15 to 25), this program will facilitate a shared understanding of what it means to be a U.S. citizen in 2026 and beyond. We face trying times, but if those in power in this country rely on historical examples to pave their way forward, the people can and should do the same. Only by learning how our forebears, in any generation, struggled with questions of revolution, rebellion, and treason can we hope to live up to, and exceed, those definitions.
