On the 250th anniversary of the United States’ Declaration of Independence, we’re asking big questions about our nation’s democracy in progress and Chicago’s next chapter. Are all people equal in our city? What happens in Chicago when people Defend, Speak Out, Unite, and Struggle for their rights and freedoms? What can we do to create a “more perfect union” today in Chicago and the US?   By necessity, civic engagement has been a part of being a Chicagoan throughout history. Join us for Civic Season between Juneteenth and July 4, to explore the threads that connect Chicagoans today to 1776 through exhibitions and programs, then consider your role in shaping the future.
