The Wornall/Majors House Museums Wish Wall would be installed on a blank wall inside our 1856 house museum. Visitors will be invited to reflect on the history of the site—including the experiences of the families who lived here, the enslaved individuals forced to labor here, and the Native peoples whose ancestral land the houses occupy—and then answer the guiding question: “What’s your wish for the U.S.?” All visitors will be encouraged to add their wishes to the wall throughout the year. Prompts will help connect what they have learned in the museum to their reflections on the nation’s next chapter. The wall will grow over time into a collective expression of community voices, linking local history to the 250th anniversary of the United States. This project aligns with our organizational mission to foster a greater and more accurate understanding of our shared past, to acknowledge histories of injustice and displacement, and to create opportunities for dialogue, reconciliation, and hope for the future. Available through October, 2026
