Join us in learning, thoughtful discussion and the creation of a community quilt with artist Iris Acevedo and Arts at Large. As we mark the 250th Anniversary of the United States’ Declaration of Independence, MPL and Arts at Large invite you to learn and join in the creation of a “community quilt” that reflects the unique voices that together tell the story of America. Facilitated by local Milwaukee artist Iris Acevedo, participants will reflect together on the ways Americans have used fiber arts to express their voice throughout history and work to make their own “Community Quilt” square that reflects the American story they want to be remembered by future generations.
