The Hastings Museum is inviting the public to participate in a discussion focused on planning a new exhibit about the history and legacy of the Naval Ammunition Depot (NAD). Join us on Tuesday, June 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the Mills Schroder American Legion Post 87, 109 N. Alexander Ave., Clay Center, NE 68933, for a Community Conversation focused on gathering feedback and ideas about what this future gallery could include. This event is hosted in partnership with the Clay Center Community Club. As we begin early development of this exhibit, staff are seeking input to guide its direction, themes, and storytelling. The Naval Ammunition Depot played a significant role in Hastings’ history, influencing everything from wartime production efforts to everyday life. This event offers an opportunity for the public to share their thoughts and help shape the topics presented in the upcoming exhibit. For those unable to attend, feedback forms are available online and will remain open for community members to share their thoughts and ideas. This event is part of the Museum’s ongoing Community Conversation series, which gathers public input to guide institutional planning and development efforts. Individuals of all backgrounds and levels of NAD knowledge are encouraged to take part. These discussions and renovations support the Hastings Museum’s mission of sparking curiosity, inviting exploration, and telling the ongoing story of Central Nebraska.
