Join us for an open community dialogue facilitated by Milwaukee Public Library and America's Black Holocaust Museum as we approach the 250th anniversary of the United States. Hear from local scholars, organizers, and activists about how their work intersects with America250. We will also review the community Wish Walls featured at several MPL branches. Participants will then enjoy a book club discussion of Annette Gordon-Reed's groundbreaking 1997 study, Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemings, which details the relationship between Thomas Jefferson and enslaved woman Sally Hemings. Participants are encouraged to read the book in advance.
